Amidst jubilation for the historic democratic exercise that brought in opposition leader, General Muhammad Buhari to be elected the President, the United Kingdom chapter of All Progressive Party [APC UK] has described the victory of its Party as the victory to all Nigerians at large.
This was contained in the press statement signed by the Press Secretary of the Chapter  Ms Adenike Lucas and officially received by Office of the President, Nigeria Union of Journalists Europe, (NUJE) in the early hours of Wednesday.
Below is the full statements as contained in the release.

[ PRESS RELEASE]
Nigerians Are The Real Winners Of The March 28, 2015, Presidential Elections | ‪#‎GMB15‬

Many Nigerians went to the polls on Saturday (March 28) and the greater majority voted for change in the person of General Muhammadu Buhari and his running mate Professor Yemi Osinbajo.
This is an historic election and Nigerians have emerged the winner. This win is a signal to the world that ‘irresponsible’ government will no longer be tolerated.
We hear the support for change from Lagos ((792,640) to Benue (373,961), Bauchi (931, 598), Yobe (446, 265), Edo (208,469). Even states that are known as safe grounds for the People's Democratic Party (PDP). Nigerians have made it known through their votes that they are no longer to be taken for granted.
Nigeria which sets precedents for other countries will no doubt translate this win as a move toward positive change. Change from the current status quo that has left many unfulfilled promises for the past 16 years.
The APC change being offered will provide a new Nigeria that will serve everyone for the better. A united nation where all citizens are made to feel safe, as security will be paramount to our government. The current threat to our nation from Boko Haram will be tackled immediately. We have a leader that will lead from the front.
Change from the current crisis of unemployment to job creation through the revamping of major industry such as Agriculture, mining etc. APC will roll out emergency job plans to tackle the current crisis. There will be 20,000 jobs created in each state to tackle this urgent problem.
There is no doubt the impact Nigerians in Diaspora had on this elections and so APC UK, led by Mr Ade Omole would ensure that Nigerians in the UK are not exempted from this positive change.
But whilst the elections were not as bloody as speculated, we must highlight areas of concerns raised by observers. Areas such as Rivers, Imo, Enugu where there have been issues of election malpractices.
It is fair to say that Professor Attahiru Jega’s unprecedented call for the use of card readers has saved Nigerians from what could have been a far wider case of rigging. He should be congratulated for heeding to demands of Nigerians.
APC UK will continue to work with our fellow compatriots to build a new Nigeria. A Nigeria that takes it rightful standing as the giant of Africa.

STATEMENT BY PRESIDENT GOODLUCK EBELE JONATHAN AFTER THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE RESULTS OF PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION 2015

FULL TEXT : STATEMENT BY PRESIDENT GOODLUCK EBELE JONATHAN AFTER THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE RESULTS OF PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION 2015
Fellow Nigerians,
I thank you all for turning out en-masse for the March 28 General Elections.
I promised the country free and fair elections. I have kept my word. I have also expanded the space for Nigerians to participate in the democratic process. That is one legacy I will like to see endure.
Although some people have expressed mixed feelings about the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), I urge those who may feel aggrieved to follow due process based on our constitution and our electoral laws, in seeking redress.
As I have always affirmed, nobody’s ambition is worth the blood of any Nigerian. The unity, stability and progress of our dear country is more important than anything else.
I congratulate all Nigerians for successfully going through the process of the March 28th General Elections with the commendable enthusiasm and commitment that was demonstrated nationwide.
I also commend the Security Services for their role in ensuring that the elections were mostly peaceful and violence-free.
To my colleagues in the PDP, I thank you for your support. Today, the PDP should be celebrating rather than mourning. We have established a legacy of democratic freedom, transparency, economic growth and free and fair elections.
For the past 16 years, we have steered the country away from ethnic and regional politics. We created a Pan-Nigerian political party and brought home to our people the realities of economic development and social transformation.
Through patriotism and diligence, we have built the biggest and most patriotic party in Nigerian history. We must stand together as a party and look to the future with renewed optimism.
I thank all Nigerians once again for the great opportunity I was given to lead this country and assure you that I will continue to do my best at the helm of national affairs until the end of my tenure.
I have conveyed my personal best wishes to General Muhammadu Buhari.
May God Almighty continue to bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
I thank you all.
Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR
President,
Federal Republic of Nigeria

Labour Party scribe congratulates Buhari, hails Jonathan

As Nigerians are keeping wake overnight since Tuesday for the final declaration of the winner of the 2015 Nigeria presidential election, the National Secretary of the Labour Party,Barr. Olukayode Ajulo has congratulated General (rtd) Muhammad Buhari for winning the Presidential Poll.
The Labour Party scribe, in an official statement joined the league of elder statesmen, politicians and international figures who have been praising President Goodluck Jonathan and then congratulating Nigerians for having shown their commitment and obligations under a freely but keenly contested presidential election.
Barrister Ajulo described the result of the Presidential election exercise as win-win for all Nigerians.
The statement reads as follows:

I, Olukayode A. Ajulo, heartily congratulate the clear winner of the 2015 Presidential Election, General Muhammadu Buhari and his party, APC.

I also seize this opportunity to congratulate President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for forthrightness, his commitment to the advancement of Nigerian democracy, selflessness and resilience in the face of all odds.

The loser in this election is not Dr. Jonathan; it is the people that have been cheated, particularly those that were denied the opportunity to vote due to some ineffective smart card readers.

The battle has been lost and won, but this does not preclude a thorough and sincere appreciation of the events that transpired before during and after the election.

These events, I make bold to say, are further vindication of my earlier positions on the political situation and the electioneering process in general.

The just concluded presidential election is one that was fraught with many pitfalls.

We have never before had a perfect election in Nigeria and we have never harbored any illusion of perfection.

But in this particular case the irregularities are just too overwhelming and daunting.

The use of card readers for which had not been test run in small scale elections in the past and later resort to manual accreditation allowed for manipulations.

Nevertheless, I plead for peace in Nigeria and I urge our leaders to pursue justice for all in moving our nation forward.

The President, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan GCFR also needs to demonstrate statesmanship by appealing to his supporters and kinsmen to remain calm.

The beauty of democracy is the campaign, election and declaration.

In addition, may I with every sense of responsibility and respect nominate President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for a Nobel peace Award for his indelible conduct, prior to, during and after the election. Irrespective of where his act or omission is viewed this man has saved lives of many Nigerians and non-Nigerians from probable violence that is to take place after the election.

For to be a loser, there must be a winner and for a winner to emerge there must be a loser. It is complimentary of each - ceteris pari bus.

Congratulations Nigeria

Signed

Gen Abdusalami Commends Goodluck says He is a Stateman

A former Head of State, Gen. Abdusalami Abubakar, has commended President Goodluck Jonathan for conceding defeat and congratulating Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari on his victory in the Saturday’s presidential election.
Abubakar spoke with State House correspondents shortly after leading members of the National Peace Committee for the 2015 general elections to a closed-door meeting with Jonathan at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
He said Buhari had earlier told him that Jonathan called him at about 5.15pm to congratulate him.
While saying that they were in the Presidential Villa to thank Jonathan for his statesmanship, the former military leader urged all stakeholders to emulate Jonathan’s sportsmanship.
He said, “We are here to ensure peace is maintained at this moment. We thank Nigerians and all international community who came to support us during the elections.
“The elections have been very peaceful despite the hitches here and there. At the end of the elections, at the counting, there are a lot of upheavals that have happened but thankfully they have been contained.
“We were at the middle of a meeting with the international observers to try to see how we can still water the tension down when gladly I called Gen. Buhari that we are going to see him. He told me that Mr. President has called him at about 5.15 pm and congratulated him and conceded defeat.
“We were spellbound and the reason we have come here is to thank President Jonathan for this statesmanship.

“In the history of Nigeria, I think this is the first time where a contestant has called his rival to congratulate him and through this point, President Jonathan maintains a point that the blood of Nigerians is not worth his Presidency and by his action, he has proven that.
“He has proven that he is a man of his word,‎ because during our interaction on this peace committee, he has always maintained that he is going to accept the result of the elections whichever way it is done. And he has proven this.”
Abubakar urged all Nigerians to join hands and assist the President in peaceful handing over.
He said all politicians, those who are celebrating and those who are ruing their loss, to give peace a chance.
The former Head of State said, “In any contest, there is always going to be a winner and President Jonathan has accepted that he lost and we want to thank him on behalf of Nigerians.
“I want to thank President Jonathan for being the statesman that he is, he has proved that he is a statesman and he has the love of this country in his heart. So, Nigerians should please help him to ensure this is real.

,“For any Nigerian, who is aggrieved, the electoral law has procedures for seeking redress, so if anybody has ‎any grievance, he should apply through the law.
“I appeal again to our youth, to everybody to please give peace a chance and accept that the chief contestant himself, has accepted
