Breaking News: Again, Appeal Court Defers Ruling on Authentic PDP in Ondo

Again, the Appeal Court has deferred ruling till Tuesday next week on which faction is the authentic Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State.

At the resumed hearing on Saturday morning the appelant objector (Ali-Modu Sheriff-led faction) to the motion initiated by Ahmed Makarfi led faction to regularised their appeal against the Federal High Court judgment that upheld Sheriff faction as the authentic PDP in Ondo State, Olagoke Fakunle, counsel to Sheriff faction said the reply to his objection was just given to him Saturday morning, and that it was voluminous, so he needed time to make a reply.

But the Makarfi-led faction objected to the adjournment, saying it was to waste and buy time.
Counsel to Makarfi PDP, Robert Emuero had also on Friday, objected that the counter affidavit filed by Fakunle to his application only got him to him that Friday morning.

In a short ruling, Saturday, head of the special Appeal Court panel, Justice Hannatu Sankey said: “In view of the fact the appellant objector was served the counter motion this morning, it is only fair to give him time to respond, the adjournment is merited, therefore it is granted.”
The Court therefore adjourned till November 1 for arguments and ruling.
