Here's The moment A New Aare Ona Kakanfo emerged...!
It was after Otunba Gani Adams had completed the final rites of passage, at the Shango ( god of thunder) shrine, after having done similar initiations in Ogun's ( god of steel) shrine, Eshu's ( the devil) shrine and in conversation with The Earth Mothers of the Bird fraternity.. Awon Iyami Osoronga ( the witches), among other rites ...!
It was the moment Shango gave the final Blessings that Iku Baba Yeye himself, proclaimed him the New Kakanfo!
The ensigns of office of the Aare are, a hat made of red feathers of the parrot's tail, with a projection behind, reaching to the waist, an apron of leopard's skin as well as a leopard's skin to sit on, Always...
The staff of office is the Ojojiko staff, which he brings from Shango's shrine on completion of his final rites, wrapped in Obatala's white cloth, to give to the Iku Baba Yeye, who unwraps it and gives back to the Kakanfo...
It was at that moment the Ojojiko staff was unwrapped by Iku Baba Yeye at, 6.20 hours, Friday 12th January 2018, and presented to him that, Otunba Gani Adams, Officially, became The Kakanfo... And he was immediately Greeted by the Salutation reserved Only for the Kakanfo, of — "Loogun Ofe Ooo", which rented the air...!
Today, the 13th of January, was to unveil The Kakanfo to the whole world in a civic ceremony and reception, where the Red parrot hat and leopard skin are worn by him and draped with the Akoko leaves...
