Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan is set to recruit new players ahead of the 2014/2015 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season, top official has revealed.
Official said only a few players would be recruited to beef up the strength of the club.
It willed be recalled that 3SC is one of the four
Nigeria National League (NNL) clubs that got promoted to the premier division at the end of the 2013/2014 season.
“Owing to our promotion to the NPFL, we have to get the team beefed up for the task ahead because we have been out of the NPFL for a season,” official said.
“So, the club’s management has decided that some players will be recruited to complement those we have on ground in order to strengthen the team.
“I am not sure of the number of players yet, but we will surely get new players for the team,’’ official stated.
The official further disclosed that the club would resume in this first week of January.
“We will soon start preparations for the new season because we will be resuming camp in the first week of January.
“This is because we want to get to work as early as possible, so that we will be prepared when the season starts proper". The 2014/2015 NPFL season is expected to start in March 2015.
