INVESTIGATION: Diezani Allison-Maduke's mother Beatrice Agama with Melanie Spencer have appeared in London Magistrate Court room number 10 on Monday, NUJ Europe gathered.
In an enquiry sent to the court by a BBC correspondent Sam Piranty the magistrate court confirmed that two other persons have earlier on Monday by 10:00 am appeared in court in relation to the case against former Nigerian petroleum minister Diezani-Allison Madueke. In the reply, posted on twitter (see below) via @SamPiranty, it was stated that the appearance took place in Room 10 of the City of Westminster Magistrate Court in London.
NUJ Europe gathered that the Westminster Magistrate Court was said to have granted an application for seizure of 27,000 pounds seized from a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, facts to this application has not yet been given by the authority.

By granting the application, which was believed to be filed by the UK’s National Crime Agency, the money would be held in the custody of the court until April 5, 2016. Such amount of cash could only be seized under Section 295 of Proceeds of Crime Act 2012, Laws of England.
Every information fed to the Nigerian media suggested that the freelance journalist covering the story for the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), Sam Piranty, listed three persons briefly detained with the former Minister as Beatrice Agama (mother); Ugonna Madueke (Stepson); and a Swiss, Melanie Spencer. The identity of the fourth person remained unknown.

Mrs. Alison-Madueke was reportedly arrested and later released on bail on Friday for alleged corruption-related offences.
However Mrs Allison-madueke did not appear as only her mother, Beatrice Agama and another person, Melanie Spencer whose identification detail is yet to be ascertained by our journalists in the purported case of National Crime Agency of United Kingdom versus Diezani Allison-Madueke and others, as at the time of filing this report. Authenticity of this case cannot be verified by NUJ Europe.

Deziani, a former senior staff at Shell in Nigeria, had served as Petroleum Minister from 2011-2015 under President Goodluck Jonathan. Before then, she had served as Minister in the Transport and Solid Minerals Ministries. In another develoment, the purported case between NCA vs Allison-Madueke was not listed among the cases lined up in court on Monday.
