Ooni of Ife received by British royalty in London to promote cultural and intellectual values

The king of Yoruba ancestral home of Ile Ife has been specially distinguished to lay a wreath as part of activities commemorating Commonwealth Day 2017 in Buckingham Palace, London on Tuesday.

Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi arrived the United Kingdom on Sunday, March 12th on a-2 weeks visit to interact and promote intellectual and cultural richness of Nigerian descents among the British people.

Upon arrival the monarch and his entourage, were thrown a warm  welcome right from the airport. Subsequently a royal courtesy welcome took place in London where Ooni of Ife with wife, was received by the British royalty, Prince Charles and wife, Princess Camilla.

Prince Charles is the eldest child of the Queen Elizabeth and the heir apparent to the throne. During his visit to the UK, the Ooni will attend the Commonwealth Day celebration, and then visit the Nigerian High Commission, London

His Imperial Majesty, the monarch of Ile-Ife, Osun state, Ooni Adeyeye Ogunwusi and his wife, Queen Wuraola met with the British Royalty, Prince Charles and wife, Princess Camilla

NUJ Europe  gathered that the king will deliver a lecture at Oxford University, among many other engagements.

Mr Babatunde Loye the Chairman of Central Association of Nigerians in United Kingdom (CANUK)  disclosed that a Corporate Dinner and Awards Night is being organised to take place on Saturday 18th March at JW Marriot Hotel, 86-90 Park Lane London W1K 7TN with  Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi hosting Nigerians in UK.

 

“We are very pleased to have the Ooni of Ife as our special guest and host for this very important gathering of influencers in the corporate world and reputable foreign investors,” Loye said.

“The occasion will provide opportunities for profound deliberations and exchange of links on business and investment. And it is also a platform to honour and appreciate those who are impacting our world in several positive ways.”

He will round up his trip with An Evening with His Imperial Majesty, a royal dinner gala night organised by the Ooni of Ife Global Outreach on Friday, March 24, 2017, at Arora Ballroom, Intercontinental Hotel, London, with cultural performances and special guests in attendance.

There will also be a royal Gala night with the king at the same venue, Arora Ballroom, Intercontinental Hotel, London
