SHOOTING STARS FORCE A 1-1 DRAW IN GOMBE AFTER YEARS!

By Jubril Arowolo,

Substitute Nonso Mbakwe ensured that Shooting Stars did not leave Pantami Stadium empty-ended by scoring  a late minute equalizer against Gombe United on Sunday evening!
It was a week 13 game of the NPFL and all was going the way of the home team before Nonso connected a 92'  free kick by Captain Seun Akinyemi from the right and found the left angle of goalkeeper Fabiyi to silence the vociferous crowd.
Midway into the first half in-form midfielder, Samuel Agba has put Gombe United ahead in the 30th after converting a spot kick when defender Samuel Olabisi handled the ball in the box.
Before then, the homers had failed to put their chances away towards the tail end of the game with goalkeeper Adamu Abubakar and his defence line mostly busied!
However, succour came in the added time with a foul on another substitute, Fawaz Otun and captain Seun Akinyemi had played it to lurking Nonso Mbakwe whose low connect caught goal keeper Emmanuel Fabiyi on the wrong side!
By this result, Shooting Stars   got another draw to make five draws in the last five games since week nine in Katsina!
Also, it ended their futile trips to Gombe in the last 21 years after the team's last drawn game in 1996 with Duke Udi's late equalizer!
