NYANYA BOMBING MASTERMIND FREED BY COURT.

- Court frees suspected Nyanya bombing mastermind Aminu Ogwuche

A Federal High Court in Abuja has dismissed the two counts terrorism charges against the suspected mastermind of the bombing of the Nyanya Motor Part in Abuja, Aminu Ogwuche.

Ogwuche was repatriated from Sudan, where he fled to after the bombing of the park, in which over 75 persons were killed.

The two count charge was struck out by Justice Adeniyi Ademola for want of diligent prosecution by the Inspector-General of Police and his prosecutors.

Ogwuche was however not discharged as he is still been detained by the Department of State Security, DSS.

The hearing of his case for the enforcement of his fundamental human right has been adjourned to December 5.

Ogwuche is asking the court to compel the Attorney-General of the Federation and the SSS to either charge him to court or set him free.

He contends that Section 35 of the 1999 Constitution is been violated by his continued detention since July 15 without trial.
