Strong indication emerged yesterday that the Nigerian electoral body, INEC may be getting a new head before the commencement of the general elections, NUJE-Europe investigations reveal.
The person among those who have been pencilled down to be the new Chairman for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is Professor Nazim Olufemi Mimiko.
The successor to the out-going Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman would be expected to take charge immediately on the 1st day of March, 2015.
The purportedy in-coming INEC Chairman, Prof Nazim Olufemi Mimiko, is a professor of Political Science and International Relation and a former Vice Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University, Ondo State.
The embattled Professor Attahiru Jega according to our source, would officially be proceeding on a three months terminal leave with effect from March 1, 2015 in compliance with the civil service procedure.
