Breaking: Another Road Accident Claims Maj. Gen. Abubakar's Life!


Two days afer the death of Labour junior Minister, James Ocholi, died in a road accident, the Nigerian Army has announced the death of one of its own in a road accident.
Chief of Training and Operations Major General Yusha’u Mahmood Abubakar, was said to have died in a road accident.
The crash reportedly occurred along Maiduguri-Damaturu Road on Tuesday.
Abubakar was a former Commander of the major theatre operation against Boko Haram insurgents, tagged Operation Lafiya Dole.
The Acting General Officer Commanding 3 Division Nigerian Army, Brigadier General MSA Aliyu who was also involved in the accident was injured.
A statement by Army spokesman, Colonel Sani Usman said: “The Nigerian Army wishes to inform the public of the involvement of its Chief of Training and Operations (Army), Major General Yusha’u Mahmood Abubakar and the Acting General Officer Commanding 3 Division Nigerian Army, Brigadier General MSA Aliyu in a road traffic accident along Maiduguri-Damaturu road today.
:”Sadly, we lost Major General Yusha’u Abubakar as a result of the incident, while Brigadier General Aliyu sustained some injuries and is receiving treatment.”
It was athered that the accident happened in the afternoon when the car they were traveling in had a tyre burst and summersaulted.
The Military reportedly conveyed the injured GOC to Jos, Plateau State for better medical attention.
Yobe State Deputy Governor, Abubakar Aliyu, the Secretary to the State Government, Baba Malam Wali, State Police Commissioner, Zanna Muhammed were among the early sympathisers at the General Sani Abacha Specialist hospital where the victims were brought.
