Historical Honour: Saudi Royal Family Opens The Ka’aba For President Buhari

The Ka’aba Is The Most Sacred Muslim Site In The World
imagePresident Muhammadu Buhari and Nigerian officials prayed inside the Holy Ka’aba on February 25, Thursday.
For Muslims, the Kaaba is the most sacred place in the world, it is believed to be the “House of God.”
The building is opened twice a year for a ceremony known as “the cleaning of the Kaaba.”
This ceremony takes place roughly thirty days before the start of the month of Ramadan and thirty days before the start of Hajj.
A small number of dignitaries and foreign diplomats are invited to participate in the ceremony.
imageBuhari, when he was a military ruler in 1984, (lesser pilgrimage) and was warmly welcomed by the Saudis.
The leader of the nation prayed for Nigeria at Prophet Muhammad’s Mosque in Medina. He was accompanied by the Governors of Osun, Ogun, Borno, Zamfara and Katsina. Others include NSA, Maj-Gen, Babagana Monguno (retd) and Amb. Lawal Kazaure.
President Buhari is a Muslim from Daura in Katsina state, who has given his support to Sharia in the north, he has previously had to deny allegations that he has a radical Islamist agenda.
